Born as Christopher Bahng on October 3, 1997, in Seoul, South Korea, Bang Chan moved to Sydney, Australia, at a young age. He attended Newtown High School of the Performing Arts, where he studied ballet and modern dance, showcasing his early dedication to the arts. Trainee Years and Formation of 3RACHA

At the age of 13, Bang Chan was selected by JYP Entertainment through an audition in Australia. He relocated to South Korea to begin his training, enduring one of the longest trainee periods in the company's history, spanning seven years. During this time, he honed his skills in singing, dancing, and music production. In 2016, he formed the pre-debut hip-hop unit 3RACHA with fellow trainees Changbin and Han, adopting the stage name CB97. The trio released their first mixtape, "J:/2017/mixtape," on SoundCloud, gaining attention for their self-produced tracks and lyrical prowess.
